Programs

A program helps you work on one pattern in your daily life, one step at a time.

The Human Experience Framework describes sixteen patterns. Each one has a name, like Living in Threat. Each paid program is written for one of them.

When you start, you answer about twenty minutes of questions. If your answers clearly match one pattern, the app tells you which one. A pattern isn’t a diagnosis.

In the app now

Living in Threat

Living in Threat is a pattern where part of you expects something bad to happen. You get ready for it before you know whether it will. You keep thinking about what could go wrong. A tightness shows up in your chest or your stomach. Then you do something to stay safe: preparing, checking, asking, leaving early.

The program starts with a short practice. It’s for the days you already feel on edge. Then come experiments. In each one, you pick a situation you expect to go badly. You also pick one thing you usually do to make sure it goes okay, like checking again or leaving early. This time, you don’t do it. Then you see what really happens.

Living in Addiction and Compulsion

Before you stop drinking, or stop taking a medication, talk to a doctor or the person who prescribed it. Stopping alcohol or some medications suddenly can be dangerous.

Planned next

If the program for your pattern isn’t in the app yet, the app says so, and you keep your morning and evening questions and the practices.

If you’re looking for help with something specific

People look for help with many things that can be part of these patterns.

  • Constant worry, panic attacks, dreading the day before it starts, or checking things again and again can be part of Living in Threat.
  • Living in Addiction and Compulsion is for drinking, drug use, gambling, or anything else you keep reaching for that helps right away and costs you later.

Living in Threat and Living in Addiction and Compulsion are patterns, not diagnoses. Cathexis doesn’t diagnose.
