Cathexis is for people in therapy, people who can’t access therapy, the clinicians who work with them, and anyone trying to understand their own patterns.
One body of work, five parts
Cathexis is one body of work in five parts. The map is free: the Human Experience System, which is the theory, the Human Experience Framework, which is the clinical classification, and the Cathexis Somatic Ontology, which is the same architecture in machine-readable form. The Practitioner Manual trains clinicians to use the map in the room. The Developmental Guide applies the map to how a person learns what to expect, from childhood on. The Cathexis app is where a person works with their own pattern in their daily life, on the same map a clinician uses.

Each day
A few questions, morning and evening
Read more
In the morning, the app asks what you notice in your body, and how you’re feeling as the day starts. In the evening, it asks how the day actually felt. Then it shows you your morning and your evening next to each other.
Before your day begins, your brain is already getting you ready for it. You may notice sensations in your body before you’ve thought about what’s coming. Most people never notice what they expect, or how often the day goes differently from what they expected.
What it isn’t
Not a replacement for a therapist or doctor
Cathexis isn’t therapy, and it doesn’t diagnose. If you see a therapist or doctor, you can use Cathexis alongside that care. Cathexis doesn’t replace it. If you need more than the app can give, it tells you, and it tells you who you can reach.

What you tell the app is kept on your phone, and it belongs to you. There’s no account to make. No one at Cathexis Health can see your record, and nothing in it is sold. You can export your whole record as one file, or delete all of it, any time.
